ESH Policies and Procedures
Lockheed Martin ESH policies and functional procedures have been developed to be consistent with the Corporation’s values and its dedication to operating excellence. They are designed to ensure that the Corporation meets its commitment to preventing accidents and ESH incidents, actively managing risk, conserving natural resources, protecting the environment, and ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and the public. The policies and procedures strengthen ESH performance by ensuring that Lockheed Martin’s 146,000 employees take a thoughtful and proactive approach to environmental, safety and health initiatives. At the corporate level, the functional procedures define specific responsibilities of the ESH leadership team in areas that range from providing tools and monitoring performance to participating in public policy debates and supporting organizations that address ESH issues. Each of Lockheed Martin’s four business areas also follows complementary functional procedures designed to ensure that ESH is incorporated into all business operations, from product design through manufacture and delivery. Business areas also are required to report incidents and respond to employee, customer, community and regulatory agency concerns. Lockheed Martin business units are required to ensure that employees are aware of their ESH responsibilities, and to encourage employees to take responsibility for ESH performance.
